<reviewbody>well'p ... out of the...I don't know, MANY P&F shows that I've attended, this one ranks within the top 3, maybe top 2 .. it may be THE most solid show I've ever seen him play, ever. I'll have to relisten.

Levon's voice is STRONG...his band has a lot of ragtime/blues/r&b flavor, great horns, Theresa Williams has a beautiful voice. I didn't dance much to Levon's band...just watched and listened in awe, while goosebumps and shivers went through me, and I got to hear THE MAN sings some of my favorite songs ever written (Ophelia, The Weight) ... Chest Fever was a highlight...um...sh*t, his whole set was a highlight, and a delight to see live.

OKAAAY...now onto Mr. Lesh and company,
again -- to be brief -- here are my personal highlights from his performance tonight.

first off -- I called the Bertha opener. so that made me feel...well...happy.

the first three songs were great to open up with, with a lot of country flavor, and a LOT of Jackie Green. that young man can SING, and he can PLAY that guitar. don't let anyone tell you any different.

Loser was particularly good, and featured some VERY soulful lyrics courtesy of JG.

then...from that point on, musically -- things got very psychedelic.

highlight(s): Cucamonga (first jam was A+++++ stuff), INSANE keys a'la Molitz. WOW!

So Hard...> Lovelight -- this segue into LL (with a Caution-Jam tease, IMO), and the subsequent jams that came from this sequence, and to end Lovelight, were INCREDIBLE!
very exploratory, high energy jams...building up to a huge peak before ending the set.

^^^I said to my friend at setbreak, "if that first set was just a warm-up for what's to come...we're in for hell of a treat for set two!"

and we were. and oh my GOD, oh my, oh my.

highlight(s): Here Comes Sunshine(!) ... great opener ... crazy-drop segue into Eyes (out of nowhere, and got a huge ovation), and then just sheer musical madness thereafter during,

The Wheel > New Potato Caboose > Revolution.

Unbroken Chain > Wharf Rat > Help > Slip > Franklin's Tower ... oh jesus. I don't even know what to say about this sequence. it went everywhere that it could've gone, stylistically...Unbroken Chain first jam was so cool...onto an emotional/beautiful Wharf Rat (mostly Jackie and Phil on vox...though, Theresa Williams sat in for most/maybe all of 2nd set).
Help > Slip > Frank -- I don't know WHAT to say re: this sequence!!!, except for -- I danced my ass off(!) like I've not danced in a LONG, long time.

look and listen for particularly amazing rising/building jams throughout Slipknot...into a raucous and celebratory Franklin's finish. I'll let the tapes speak for themselves, but this sequence was perfect.

Encore -- GREAT(!) Rider, followed by an emotional and powerful Attics, with everyone on stage singing, accompanied by VERY soft music behind...it almost sounded a'capella...it almost brought a tear to my eye.

to sum up -- a beautiful evening, beautiful venue ... and, again, out of over 50 or so Phil shows I've been -- I'd put this show right at the top of the list, if not at THE TOP. it was that good.

Jackie Greene impressed me (my first time seeing him in person), the rest of Phil's lineup always impresses me...no matter what project they're wrapped up in ... Molitz, Molo, Campbell, Lesh, Greene ... c'mon!!! can't beat that with bat! they were LOCKED IN throughout the entire show...very exploratory jams throughout the entire show (especially ending the 1st set, and all through set #2)...and I really hope this lineup continues on, and that I get to see them again sometime soon.

5 out of 5 stars from this phan. this show was something amazing, and one wild and free dance party ensued at the BOA-P tonight.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Amazing show and great crowd. Even security was friendly within the limits of their job. Also, the venue is just amazing. The recording can't quite capture the raw energy of this show. The whole first set had a steady wind at our backs, it almost felt like Jerry's spirit was all around us.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>when we woke up on the day of this show my girl kept saying she REALLY hoped they would play pride, i was praying for slipknot all day. Not only did they play our songs, they played the best versions of them ive ever heard. It seemed unreal. A dream within a dream. Telepathy? :)

the whole second set is as good as it gets. enjoy. Thank you sooooo much Phil!</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Great song selection, sweet venue, plus a somewhat raucous crowd made for a great show. Stand-outs for me: Loser, Love-lite, and the entire second set...
Thanks Phil and thanks for posting this show!</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Can't speak to the quality of the recording but the show itself is as good as it gets. This lineup has really come a long way since the Fall tour and they are back to the heavy duty jamming that makes Phil shows special. This was one heck of a Phil show too. Ranks in the top 3 of the 25+ I have seen. The second set can't be beat. Give it a go.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Saw this show, it was great. Good aud copy, music is clear and the crowd noise is not overpowering.
I was 10 rows behind the taper, was hoping it would show up here. Thanks for uploading so quickly.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I HAVE HEARD A FEW DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF PHIL'S BAND AND I SAY THIS IS THE BEST ONE.I STILL BELIEVE AS I DID CATCHING THE DEAD 300 PLUS TIMES IN THE '70'S AND '80'S PHIL IS THE BEST BASS PLAYER BAR NONE.BECAUSE NO ONE PLAY'S THE BASS LIKE PHIL.AND LARRY CAMPBELL IS PHENOMINAL,SEEING HIM IN DYLAN'S BAND AN AWFUL LOT HE STILL BLOW'S MY MIND. READING THESE REVIEWS I JUST GOTTA WONDER ''ARE THEY DOSING EVERYONE ON THE WAY IN? BUT I THINK WHAT IT COMES DOWN TO IS 95 PERCENT OF THE PEOPLE THAT GO TO THESE SHOW'S WERE NOT EVEN BORN WHEN GARCIA WAS ALIVE AND THERFORE REALLY DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO COMPARE TO. AND A SONG LIST ON PAPER DOES NOT SAY ANYTHING.BUT IF THESE SONG LISTS WERE PLAYED WHEN JERRY WAS STILL WANTING TO PLAY IN THE GRATEFUL DEAD[LONG BEFORE THE 90'S]THAT WOULD BE SOMETHING. IT IS WHAT IT IS......</reviewbody>
    <reviewtitle>ARE THESE PEOPLE FOR REAL?</reviewtitle>

<reviewbody>I ended up in the foothills near Sacramento after evacuating because of Katrina and got hip to Jackie Greene there. He came up out of the open mic/blues jam scene I ended up playing in, too. Never would have put him together with Phil but he has done a great job with him. Saw several great shows in SF, including the incredible night they played "Aoxomoxoa" and "Live Dead", and then at Bonnaroo. My skeptical friend there went away very impressed. It has been fun watching Jackie make new fans and do his thing with the material. He has become a very soulful interpreter of Garcia's songs, in particular.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>This was a great night! The venue, the crowd & especially Set II. I feel that Jackie has really stepped it up a notch on this tour. Check out this killer version of WHARF RAT. I was still somewhat skeptical of Jackie until about halfway through this Wharf Rat. Phil & the band are ripping it near the end and the crowd was going insane. It was one of those moments in which we all go to shows for. 5 star performance, 4 star recording. Phil should definately play this venue again. Was really cool at the end when Phil says that Boston is in his top three cities to play !!!!!! Well worth the download....</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>When Jackie Greene first joined as a new friend I compared them to other incarnations and found it lacking. NOW I am sold!! They are definitely on the same page. I'm not going so far as saying this is the best lineup but they sure can play!!!!! It's not better, just great interpretations of the Grateful Dead sound. This recording is very nice and the setlist varied nicely. This version of the band harkens back to 69-70 era by the flat out playing of Jackie Greene. Phil has to be very happy with the many versions of his band and this one is special.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>First of all - fantastic recording Andy! One of the best AUDS I've heard in a long time. Right from the opening Bertha you knew you were in for a special night! The second set is FREAKIN' SICK! A great Eyes of the World (not so easy to do in my mind) and the Help>Slip>Frank is simply amazing! I thought the place was going to literally explode towards the end of Franklin's. Everyone in the band was ON - Steve added some pretty spacey keys, especially during Help on the Way. Jackie Greene is the man at this point folks. If you don't believe me, this show will prove you wrong. The gem of 2008 so far! This version of P & F is on a roll and have something special going right now.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>So I saw every show Phil has done(quartet and beyond) in Boston but somehow could not get tix for this one...What a great setlist, and it was played amazingly. I agree with all of you, and Phil loves Boston! I met him at the Harvard Coop while scoping out schools for his son. What a truly amazing man. The Phil bombs are pretty clear on this recording as well, thanks so much! Peace to all :)</reviewbody>
